Tuning tips
- Tune up to the note. If a string is sharp, drop below the note and come back up so the gear holds.
- Electric guitar: tune with the volume knob up and play a single clean note, not a chord.
- Acoustic: hold the guitar close to the phone or laptop microphone.
Tuning by ear (5th fret method)
With low E in tune, the 5th fret of each string matches the next open string, except the G string, where the 4th fret matches the open B.
